Privacy Policy
Effective May 30, 2026
The short version
Anonymous gameplay stats only — no cookies, no selling data. Your nickname stays on your device. Session replays are opt-in only.
Cluster Cluck (the "Game") is operated by NicheNeeds ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.
What we collect
- Gameplay events — moves, deaths, wins, session length, attempt number, daily streak. We do not collect mouse-tracking or keystroke content.
- Nickname — the name you enter on the start screen. It is stored locally on your device and sent with multiplayer messages so other players can see it.
- Device + browser metadata — user-agent, screen size, language, approximate location derived from IP via PostHog GeoIP (city-level).
- Session replays — a recording of the page UI (lobbies, HUD, menus) so we can debug bugs. Inputs are masked. The 3D game canvas is not recorded. Replays only run with your analytics consent.
- Multiplayer state — your position, team, score, and join/leave events for CTF rooms. Held in memory on the game server only for the duration of the match.
Why we collect it
- Run the game (legitimate interest / contract): nicknames, gameplay state, multiplayer sync, anti-cheat.
- Improve the game (legitimate interest): anonymous gameplay events via PostHog in cookieless mode -- no persistent identifier, no cookie. Session replays require your explicit consent below.
Who we share it with (sub-processors)
- PostHog — product analytics + session replays. EU region (eu.posthog.com). Privacy.
- Supabase — gameplay state database and leaderboard. Privacy.
- Vercel — site hosting and edge delivery. Privacy.
- Fly.io — CTF multiplayer game server. Privacy.
- GameAnalytics (when configured) — game-industry retention benchmarks. Privacy.
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
- Analytics events: 12 months from collection.
- Session replays: 30 days.
- Leaderboard rows: until you ask us to delete them.
- Live multiplayer state: deleted when the match ends.

Children
Cluster Cluck is suitable for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies and similar tech
We use strictly-necessary local storage for nicknames, settings, and gameplay state (cannot be turned off). Basic analytics (PostHog) runs in cookieless/memory mode -- no persistent identifier, IPs anonymized, no consent needed. The only opt-in category is session recording:
Session recording
Allow PostHog to record page UI sessions (menus, HUD) so we can debug issues. Inputs are masked. The 3D game canvas is not recorded. Basic anonymous analytics always run and cannot be turned off.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and bump the effective date above. Material changes will re-prompt for consent.
